About us

My little business has grown out of my passion and love for dogs.   I derive such joy bonding with them and their owners and making a difference in their lives if even for a short time.  I encourage you to make an appointment to bring your dog and we can visit and see if it seems like a good fit.  There's no charge and it's time well spent for all.

I had rescue dogs my entire life until Maggie and Petey both passed away in 2013. There was a void in my life till I started bringing dogs into my home when their owners would have hockey games, work commitments, vacations and whatever life would bring.

My lifetime of owning rescues helped me greatly in reading dog body language and behaviors.  Now,  I can say that I enjoy the time with my guests just as much as they enjoy taking a fun vacation while their owners are away.

I live in a country setting in the beautiful Beaver River Valley and the dogs love all the smells and wildlife trails.  It truly is heaven on earth for dogs. I know all the good swimming holes on the Beaver River which is only about 1000 ft from my home. Lake Superior is just a short 3 mile drive if we decide to play fetch on the beach.

When I give a massage to a dog, I can often get them to start nodding off or laying down within the first 3 minutes.  I have found it's a wonderful distraction technique to relax them when they first arrive if separation anxiety sets in.  It creates an instant bond between us and they feel a sense of calm about me and their new surroundings.

Your home rules are my home rules. Your beloved companions can sleep with me if they sleep with you.   If they are crate trained just bring it with you for their stay. Your companions feeding times, food, treats and leads are discussed and I follow your instruction.

Daily walks are part of their day and I can reinforce commands that you have taught as well as work on new ones with them. I always walk them on lead when walking the black top and teach them to sit back from the road when hearing a vehicle approach and we watch the vehicle come and go before carrying on with our adventure.

You can receive daily messages from me detailing how your beloved family members day went. There have been some interesting stories to be told in those updates and many involve encounters with my free range chickens.

In the past, my experience with loud, anxious barking dogs in kennels left me feeling anxious for my dogs and uncomfortable as I had to leave them knowing they were so stressed in that environment.

This concept of truly providing a home environment with a little spa and exercise regimen came from my ill-ease when I had to leave my my own dogs at kennels. I want to increase your sense of well being as you plan your next big event or work/life calls you away.

I hope you will consider bringing your beloved companions for a vacation at Raspberry Ridge Dog B n B.  We will have a grand time together!

Tess, our English Setter stayed with Angie for 10 days. She did an excellent job. Angie really wants to know your pets... likes, dislikes, how much spoiling is allowed and she really makes them one of her own. Angie came for a visit about a week later & Tess was overjoyed to see her new friend. There is no better recommendation than one that comes from the pet themselves.

Angie watched my dog Moose for a week. He was very spoiled every day with her personal attention and loving care. She kept me updated via Facebook on their daily walks, swims, etc.! It was comforting knowing he was behaving and they were getting along great! He is going back next week for an overnight.

Highly recommend!
